Welcome to the Office of Sponsored Programs
Proposal Preparation, Review, and Transmittal: The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) provides assistance in the preparation of proposals to sponsors. The Sponsored Programs Coordinators (2-9949 Fax 2-6963) are the individuals in the OSP responsible for these activities. Faculty are urged to contact the OSP as early in the process of preparing a proposal as possible to discuss the administrative, financial and managerial concerns of the project and sponsor requirements. All proposals require the endorsement of relevant Chairs and Deans or Directors.
All submissions will be subject to server timestamp verification. Full proposals must be submitted to Sponsored Programs at least five (5) business days prior to the official sponsor deadline (see specific funding availability announcements for requirements). Proposals received less than five days prior to a stated deadline are not guaranteed to be successfully submitted in time for the sponsor's deadline.
Award Negotiations and Acceptance: The Contracts & Grants Administrators (2-4402 Fax 2-6963) represent the institution, on behalf of faculty members, in the negotiation of award conditions with sponsors. This includes negotiations on such issues as publication rights, patent and licensing clauses, and liability or indemnification. Award conditions are reviewed and accepted by the OSP on behalf of the Research Foundation of SUNY.
OSP maintains a number of standard agreements that can be used as a basis for soliciting support from organizations that award contracts rather than grants, most typically the Private Sector.
