Register for Classes
Students enter college as freshman. Some of them come with a fairly good idea of the health career they want. Others are not sure of their ultimate goal and want to keep their options open.
Regardless of how certain you are of you future, good grades are important. The prehealth classes you take give you background that you need in later studies when you are becoming a physician, dentist, PA, physical therapist ---whatever your goal (and there are many).
Good grades are also strong evidence that you know what you're doing. As you earn good grades you will probably find that professors and researchers will be willing to entrust you with bigger and more interesting challenges.
And if your grades, and later your Admissions Test scores, are strong enough, you might be entrusted with the biggest challenge of all: becoming a health professional who is responsible for the lives of others.
So, make freshman year count! Use the links in our academics section. Focus on quality learning. Always try to make classes a top priority. If a job or a commute is hurting your grades, something has to change.
You can major in just about anything and take prehealth courses. Often, the best way to pick a major is to "pick a major that you like and pick a major that likes you back."
