In general, the majority of applicants do not apply tocombined degree programs, but you should take a look at them to make sure you are not missing anything.

Follow your interests. If you are intrigued by public health, take a look at a doctorate in the health professions combined with an MPH degree. Many schools offer a a doctorate (MD or DDS, for instance) combined with a Ph.D. in research.

It is always a good idea to apply to a number of regular programs in addition to combined degree programs.
